Away from the Flock Back

AWAY FROM THE FLOCK POETRY COMPETITION - In June 2006, Creative Routes and partners, launched the first annual BonkersFest!, A life size fibreglass sheep, hired for the day along with other animals, was stolen. The sheep, nicknamed Dolly, captured the imagination of the local press and a campaign was mounted for her return. Dolly was recovered by a gentleman several weeks later in a bush, and is now back with her flock. The notion of being away from the flock proved particularly moving to the Creative Routes collective, and the idea for this poetry competition was born.
David Brindle of the Guardian was incredibly impressed with the standard of the poetry. Out of hundreds of entries, seven short listed winners were chosen by Apples & Snakes, to be winners of the 'AWAY FROM THE FLOCK' Poetry Competition. The poetry competition was created by Creative Routes in collaboration with The Young Vic Theatre and Apples & Snakes
